Our Parish

The Parish is blessed with four beautiful churches, each with its individual character and charm. They are open daily from approximately 9am to 4pm (St. Peter’s Church is only open from April to October). We welcome you to come and share in their peace and tranquillity.

You can find more information about each of them clicking on the images below.

 Eco Church

The Diocese of Sodor and Man and the churches of Rushen Parish in particular have committed to net zero carbon emissions by 2030. To achieve this we have already changed our lighting to use low energy LED bulbs and in 2021 we switched to only use electricity from renewable sources using the Manx Utilities Green Tarrif.

Over the next 8 years we will be replacing our existing oil-fired heating boilers with efficient electric heating, each change reducing our carbon footprint until we finally reach a sustainable net zero by 2030.

The Wider Church

The Parish of Rushen is part of the Church of England in the Diocese of Sodor and Man. We are one of the ancient parishes of the Isle of Man and are found at the southernmost tip of the island.

The two other parishes in the south of the island are: Malew and Santan, and Castletown and Arbory.
